The Moth in Chicago: Envy

The people have spoken and I will officially be returning to host The Moth Live on March 27th at Lincoln Hall!

ENVY: Prepare a five-minute story involving the undeservedly blessed who luxuriate in all you want. Or speak on your own jealousy-causing good fortune. Bring your tales of loathing someone just because they have more money than you, more followers on Insta, or a speedy metabolism. Are you one who lets the haters aggrivate or motivate you? Let's hear about it! We’ll be picking at random, I'll be practicing my dance moves, and overall killing it 3/27!

The Moth in Chicago: Love Hurts

The people have spoken and I will officially be returning to host The Moth Live on February 18th at Space!

LOVE HURTS: Prepare a five-minute tale about a love that made you go OUCH. The agony of deferred love! The misery of good love, gone bad! The anguish of one-way love! Bring stories of your heart, kicked to the curb by the people or places or things you love...or used to love. Love that "Hurts So Good" also welcome. We’ll be picking at random, I'll be practicing my stand up, and overall killing it 2/18!

Lead by Colors Production founders, dance extraordinaire Joshua Ishmon and the trumpet master Sam Trump, we present an exploration and challenge to the centuries old trope pitting the light vs the dark. In three chapters we travel the night’s sky, conjure the manifestation of villainy, and ask what is absence; what is everything? Join us at the Chicago MCA 8/24 & 8/25 for Redefining Black featuring the original works of Khari B “The DiscoPoet,” Playwright & Activist Kristiana Rae Colon, and Performance Artist Jacoby Cochran!

ART AS ACTIVISM!!!

A moderated panel discussion with leading art-makers of the Chicago Arts Community, providing the tools to make integration the goal within every aspect of art making and working towards safe spaces for all voices to create, collaborate and celebrate.

This 6 person panel will explore and focus on what can be done strategically to mobilize, model the best methods, and evaluate different dialogues when including all voices in the art-making process.

We know it's impossible to tear down everything and rebuild, but we hope this event will ease barriers and allow us to be activists together!

The LIVINGroom: New Beginnings

What is The LIVINGroom?

We tell true stories theatrically. We bring together artists and actors who devise, stage, and perform autobiographical stories based on a theme. Staged in a living room setting at the Colvin House.

Performances blend spoken word, movement, theatre, spectacal, music, and any other device that bridges the personal and universal.
